MINUS 8 VINEGARS & VERJUS

Pecan Pie  submitted by Sandra T., Sherbrooke, Quebec.  This recipe was TESTED and is excellent!

For the crust, use the recipe for L8 Harvest Pie Crust

Makes one 9" Pie

Preparation time:  10 minutes, very easy, cooking time 45 to 50 minutes

Oven 375°F

This recipes multiplies very well and the pies freeze well (unbaked.)  Take the frozen pie out of the freezer in the morning to bake for dinner the same day.

Ingredients:

1 unbaked pie shell

1 cup maple syrup (250 ml)

2/3 cups sugar (170 ml)

4 tbsp melted butter (60 ml)

3 eggs

1/8 tsp salt

1 cup pecan halves (250 ml)

Preparation:

1.  Butter a 9" pie plate and line with dough.

2.  Combine all ingredients except pecans in bowl.  Beat with rotary beater until smooth.

3.  Pour into unbaked pie shell.  Sprinkle with pecan halves.

4.  Bake at 375°F for 45 to 50 minutes.

Serve with vanilla ice cream and/or whipped cream.
